Welcome to the Icehouse
Accommodation on the January Lakes trip was spartan to say the least but with well below freezing night time temperatures and somewhat inadequate heating it was borne stoically by those who went. The proximity of the pub, (almost next door), was a godsend and the food wasn’t bad either! In Limbo in Bristol – Dave Mahon
Brian Mead had his heart set on doing the classic Debauchery at High Tor but the weather dictated where to go – Bristol. I have always been put off by tales of road noise and poor protection but Brian raved about a buttress of natural limestone so I thought I would give it a go.
Day Trip to Portland – Paul Highams
John Mitchener and I decided that we should make the most of the mild November, so on Sunday 6th we set off for a day trip to Portland. We met at Bessells Green at 7am and by 9:40 were sitting in a cafe on Weymouth seafront, having a full english breakfast as the Sun glinted across the bay. Things were looking good.
